Description

Here we have a wonderful Bourgeois Country Boy Dreadnought from 2005! This guitar features an Adirondack top and is in very good overall condition.

In addition to the Adi top, this guitar has mahogany back & sides, a mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, and ebony bridge. It has tiny mother of pearl dot inlays, nickel Waverly tuners, and a vintage style tortoise guard. The nut width is 1 23/32". The neck has black binding, and the body has tortoise top and back binding. The rosette is wood and the headstock faceplate is Indian rosewood.

This guitar has been played but is in pretty good shape. There is some finish discoloration behind the nut, and a few finish chips around the headstock edges. There are light surface scratches on the guitar and some faint dings on the back of the neck. The edge of the fingerboard, mainly on the treble side, shows light chatter and wear to the finish. The sides of the instrument have some faint dings and impressions into the wood. There is some topical finish residue on the back as well. There are no wholesale dents or major damage. The frets show some faint wear in the normal cowboy chord area but the guitar sounds out just fine.

This one weighs 4lbs 5oz. The neck measures .800 to .925 at the 1st and 9th frets. It has nice oval neck profile that only subtly hints at a V apex. The guitar has a deep and clear tone with a touch more bass than we'd anticipated. It is still a nice cutting mid-range mahogany sound however with excellent color and clarity. It is loud, projecting well, with great sustain and overall resonance.

Bourgeois is one of our favorite boutique builders and this D holds up among the best we've heard from them. It's an ideal guitar for live use with its subtle wear. Includes the original hardshell case.
