Description
The Florist is a collaboration between Benson Amps and Dave Jordan of Non-Human Audio, developed from a shared interest in the modulated slapback effect found in Jordan's Slow Loris pedal. Rather than a revision of that design, the Florist is a separate circuit built around a different approach — one that covers similar sonic territory while extending well beyond it.
The core concept is a dual-channel dynamic delay modulator. Each delay channel uses its own compressor-type detector circuit to control delay speed, and the interaction between the two channels — combined with independent wet and dry volume controls — opens up a wide range of textures: chorus, slapback, through-zero flanging, tri-chorus, and less categorizable modulation effects. The delay range runs faster than the Slow Loris, and the signal path was redesigned for higher fidelity.

Controls
Dry — volume of the unaffected signal.
Wet A / Wet B — independent volume controls for each delay channel.
Intensity A / Intensity B — modulation depth for each respective channel.
Ghosts
A latching footswitch that introduces feedback in both delay lines, pushing them to the edge of oscillation. The results are unpredictable and vary significantly depending on the other control settings — worth exploring deliberately.
Applications
The Florist works on guitar, but the dual-channel architecture and dynamic modulation make it equally interesting on vocals, drums, synths, and other sources in a studio context.
