Product Description
Here we have a really neat Baxendale Kay Sherwood Deluxe Conversion! This guitar was redone in 2021.
It features a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and rosewood bridge. It has Kluson Deluxe strip tuners, narrow tall fret wire, and a single ply white guard. The scale length is 25 3/4” and the nut width is 1 5/8”.
The guitar has been fully rebuilt and upgraded by Baxendale. All of the internal braces are new including a scalloped x-brace for the top. The bridge plate is also new as is the rosewood bridge.
The guitar has a cool vibe, with an extremely played-in look. There are dings and scratches over the entire surface of the instrument as well as checking and other signs of play.
It weighs 4lbs 6oz. The neck measures .980 to 1.120 at the 1st and 9th. It has a full, round C neck profile that is one of the larger ones you’ll find on a guitar but still comfortable to get around on. The guitar has good volume with excellent clarity. It has warm mids as you’d expect from a mahogany guitar, but for the size of the body it’s not too dark sounding. The longer scale means higher string tension, but overall it’s a really nice player and great sounding instrument.
Ships in a modern TKL case with a Baxendale sticker on the exterior.
