Product Description

The Aclam Go Rocky Go is a sonic tribute to one of the most experimental eras in guitar history: the late-1960s tones of The Beatles. Housed in an enclosure inspired by George Harrison’s iconic psychedelic-painted "Rocky" Stratocaster, this pedal is a meticulous, part-for-part recreation of the Brilliant channel found on the rare 1967 Vox Conqueror solid-state amplifier. Used extensively on Magical Mystery Tour and The White Album, this legendary amp defined the bite, snarl, and chime of the Fabs' studio masterpieces.

Aclam traced and analyzed their own pristine, vintage Vox Conqueror (Serial No. 2004) to capture the amplifier’s exact preamp topology. Far from a standard overdrive, the Go Rocky Go brings back the unique, aggressive built-in fuzz/distortion circuit and the iconic Mid-Range Resonant Boost (M.R.B.) of the original unit, while adding smart modern updates for today's pedalboards.

The Mid-Range Resonant Boost (M.R.B.)

The secret weapon of the Conqueror amp was its proprietary M.R.B. circuit—a distinct mid-range sweep that helped shape the development of the early wah-wah pedal. By pressing both footswitches simultaneously, you can engage this legendary circuit and choose between three selectable center frequencies:

  • Position 1: A tight boost centered at approximately 500 Hz.
  • Position 2: A vocal, commanding mid-range boost at around 700 Hz.
  • Position 3: A cutting, high-mid punch sitting at roughly 1 kHz.

Four Modes, Two Footswitches

Aclam engineered an elegant control layout that lets you access four distinct tonal states using just two silent relay footswitches:

  • Normal Mode (White LED): Replicates the sparkling, immediate clean preamp response of the original Vox Conqueror.
  • Distortion Mode (Orange LED): Engages the amp's built-in vintage distortion. Unlike modern high-gain pedals, this is a snarly, biting, 1960s fuzz-edged texture. Aclam added an independent Distortion Volume control here to let you balance or boost your level against the clean channel.
  • Crunch Mode (Blue LED): A brand-new addition not found on the original amp. By holding down the bypass switch for 1.5 seconds, you unlock a sweet, touch-sensitive overdrive that sits perfectly between clean and full distortion.
  • M.R.B. Mode (M.R.B. LED): Can be stacked on top of any mode to radically reshape your guitar's midrange for distinct rhythm tracks or cocked-wah lead lines.

Modern Power and Performance

  • Voltage Versatility: Runs anywhere from 9V to 18V. Run it at 9V for warmer tones and a fuzzier, sagging distortion character, or bump it up to 18V for maximum headroom, sharper transients, and aggressive top-end bite.
  • Silent Switching: High-quality relay true bypass ensures ultra-quiet operation with no pops or clicks when engaging the effect.
