Here we have a truly incredible vintage 1957 Fender Stratocaster. This non-tremolo "hardtail" guitar is in excellent condition and all original.

The body is 2-piece alder with a 2-tone sunburst finish. The neck is one piece maple with skunk stripe, black dot fingerboard inlays, and Kluson single line tuners. It has a single ply white pickguard with white knobs, pickup covers, and switch tip. The electronics and solder connections appear to be original and unaltered. 

This guitar is very clean, though with some notable buckle wear on the back. There is light fingerboard wear in the normal positions as well as along the heel end. The logo and headstock face are excellent, the back of the neck is very clean, and the hardware looks great. It seems to have been well-played for a short period of time, but mostly kept under the bed in the case.

The guitar weighs 6lbs 14oz. It's wonderfully lightweight and well-balanced. The neck measures .890 to .990 at the 1st and 12th. It has that iconic '57 V profile down low that rounds out slightly as you go up the neck. The neck date is 9-57 and the body date is 12-57. The pot codes date to the 23rd week of 1957. 

It plays great in all positions. The original frets show faint wear but nothing that inhibits sound or playability. The guitar is extremely resonant and loud acoustically with excellent sustain. It has a warm, hard mid-range with a super glassy top end. It growls when you dig into the strings as hardtail models are prone to doing. The pickups are loud and bold, with pure vintage Strat tone in all positions. Simply a fantastic example in all regards.
