Product Description

Here we have a very cool 1957 Fender Esquire! This one is a blast to play and sounds fantastic.

These iconic guitars feature an ash body and one piece maple neck. They have a white blonde finish and single ply white pickguard. It has a staggered pole bridge pickup with smooth steel saddles. The tuners are single line Kluson Deluxe units, and the neck profile is the V traditionally found in '57.

This guitar has had a refret and the nut has been changed. Otherwise the finish and components all appear to be original. There has never been a neck pickup installed. The mud circuit is intact and the electronics all appear to be correct. There are a few solder connections that look less oxidized than others. The neck and body are both dated 4-57. The pickup has a piece of tape on the bottom of the plate with the word "Esquire" written in cursive. One corner of the white guard has broken off, but the little piece is included. The finish shows wear around the edges with numerous chips, scratches, and light dings. The finish shows checking throughout and the lacquer has yellowed just subtly with age. The finish appears to be correct without overspray or touch up.

This one weighs 7lbs 4oz. The neck measures .890 to .990 at the 1st and 12th. It's comfortable neck, exactly what you'd expect to find on this guitar. It is loud, twangy, and resonant acoustically. It plays easily up and down the neck with the modern fret wire. The pickup is bold and clear with a sweet and even tone. It's not a hot pickup, but not weak either and without much in the way of noise. The guitar has been well-played for good reason, but remains an excellent original example overall.

Ships in the original knuckle buster tweed case. Includes the pickguard corner and a newer bridge cover.
