The 1961 Les Paul SG Standard VOS is a solid body electric guitar built by Gibson Custom Shop. This double cutaway set neck guitar was manufactured in Nashville, TN in the United States and is a Gibson Custom Shop Historic Reissue model. Key features include a Mahogany Body, Mahogany Neck, Rosewood Fretboard, Trapezoid Inlays, Dual Custombucker Pickups and Cherry finish. The specs listed below pertain to the 2023 product year model pictured on this page. In 1961, the iconic Les Paul Model guitar was redesigned into what would later be known as the SG Standard. SG, or Solid Guitar, was a slimmer flat top version of Les Paul's signature model, as opposed the maple cap carved top single cutaway Les Paul of the 1950s. Early SG guitars still retain the Les Paul name, but soon after their introduction they are referred to simply as SG.
