1935 Martin 00-40H Vintage Acoustic Guitar Specs

The 00-40H is a grand concert acoustic guitar built by Martin. This 00 size 12-fret guitar was manufactured in Nazareth, PA in the United States and is a Pre-War Martin build. Key features include an Adirondack Spruce Top, Brazilian Rosewood Back and Sides, Ebony Fingerboard, Pearl Top Trim, Pearl Rosette Center Ring and Natural finish. The specs listed below pertain to the 1935 product year model pictured on this page. The "H" in the model name stands for Hawaiian, meaning this instrument left the factory with a tall nut and saddle meant for slide playing. Hawaiian music was all the rage at the time, and Martin offered a number of "H" models, though this style 40 would have been at the top of the line. The instrument photographed on the page, like many, has been converted for modern fingerstyle playing though the core specifications of the model remain.
