Gretsch has released a Limited Edition Quilt Classic Falcon from its Professional Collection, and it's one of the more striking limited runs the model has seen. The body is built from laminated quilt maple, finished in a Forge Glow nitrocellulose lacquer that lets the figuring show through under the color. The body itself has 1959 trestle bracing and a 2.75" depth, with ivoroid binding trimming the edges for a clean, warm look.
The neck is maple with an ebony fingerboard, a 25.5" scale length, 12" fingerboard radius, and a 1.6875" nut width. Neo-Classic Thumbnail inlays mark the 22 medium jumbo frets, and a bone nut rounds out the setup. Hardware includes Grover Imperial tuners, a Space Control bridge on a pinned ebony base, and a Bigsby B6GVT vibrato tailpiece, giving players smooth, controlled pitch modulation alongside Gretsch's signature twang.
Loaded into the Falcon is a set of TV Jones Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity Filter'Tron, pickups designed to capture the original, fuller-sounding character of the earliest Filter'Tron design. Paired with the quilt maple body and nitro finish, the result is a guitar that's as resonant and dynamic as it is visually striking. Each one ships brand new with a hardshell case and paperwork.
