Product Description
2018 Fender Custom Shop 1950 Double Esquire
A fine reissue for the Vintage Custom series from the Custom Shop, offered as a limited edition for the 2018 Summer Event that most likely coincided with SNAMM that year. A sharp Flash-Coat Lacquer finish over the light weight ash body in Faded NoCaster Blonde with a Journeyman Relic, that borders on a Relic or Heavy Relic to the eye. This double esquire features a lot of the vintage correct parts of the NoCaster, a single ply black pick guard and flat head screws used throughout. A hand wound set of the sought after 50-51 Blackguard pickups, wired with the unique Nodified NoCaster harness. This offer two positions of a preset tone capacitor for the neck and a neck blend in the bridge position, as you roll back the rear potentiometer it gradually blends in the neck pickups. This set up offer some really unique, yet usable tones off of the guitar. The neck is a rift sawn maple with the 10/56 "V" profile, 7.25"-9.5" fretboard radius, and Jescar 50085 frets.
The instrument is in really great condition, with little to no fretwear. The relic on this one is exceptional, plenty of checking in the thin lacquer finish that is nicely sunken into the ash body. A good amount of chips along the body edges and forearm wear, as well as the classic relic pattern on the fretboard and worn away finish on the back of the neck.
